BITE NIGHT! ELDER SCROLLS IV! VAMPIRES! BLOG-A-THONS! WHAT DOES THIS MEAN!

Alright, I'm feeling slightly more ambitious than I have been about blogging since I've been home from college. I have really been lacking in the posting, probably a combination of video games and friends, and so now, I want to make up for it.

Yesterday, I went out with my friend and girlfriend to get some Chinese food, and we walked on over to FYE to see what they had for specials. Now, I don't know if you shop much at FYE, but they are ginormously expensive. Yes, I felt the need to use a fake word for their sales. However, FYE does have good deals when they have used movies for sale, especially movie packs, and I found a movie pack called Bloodsoaked Cinema: Bite Night on one of the horror shelves.

Now I'm not sure how good some of these movies are, such as the classic-sounding title Sorority House Vampires from Hell, but at least it will be some good entertainment, and at a cheap price.

Also, in other news, I am a total geek who loves playing long RPGs (role-playing games for those of you who aren't uber-nerds like me), and I have been currently addicted to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion on Xbox 360. In it, I fought a few vampires and contracted a virus which has now turned me into a vampire. I am affected by light, and if I don't feed on sleeping victims, I will start to be pursued by the town guards because I look strange.

So in light of both my purchase of Bite Night and my current vampirism in Elder Scrolls IV, I am setting up a little suttin-suttin. I propose a blog-a-thon, called the Review A Vampire Movie/Talk About Vampires for An Unstated Length of Time Blog-A-Thon! I know it's a ridiculously long title, but that's not the point. The point is:

I will be starting to review the movies in Bite Night shortly (probably Monday, hopefully, as I will be reviewing Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull for tomorrow!!), and I say that every one of you with blogs should either post a blog on vampires or review a vampire movie in the upcoming weeks! Don't get me wrong, you don't have to, but wouldn't it be fun? And if you do, let me know via comment/email (rb9589@mcla.edu) and I will be happy to post a link to your blog post. I will also pick some of my favorites to even have a guest post on The Moon is a Dead World! Quality over quantity, creativity preferable. So get writing!

It starts now, and ends whenever I want it to! I will be sending this to all League of Tana Tea Drinkers members as well, and hopefully we'll have a great selection of vampire lore!

DO IT! And send those posts to me so I can link to them. I ask, and it is optional, if you could please link back to me, this post or otherwise, for street cred. If you feel it will dishonor or hamper your blog, don't worry about it. I'm feeling courteous and kind!

Hi Ryne!

Here's my contribution to your Blog-a-thon!

http://acheteretentretenirsatronconneuse.blogspot.com/2008/05/vampire-call-girls-1998.html

I guess most of your readers can't read it, but at least you can watch the big-breasted vampire girls :-)

This a highly NSFW post. Be warned!

Does anyone remember the low-budget B-picture "Blood and Donuts?" I always liked that one.

What would you say was the best vampire movie? Dracula was nicely atmospheric, but the ending was a let-down -- some guys stumbling around a basement who finally bend over a box coffin. If I had to choose I guess I'd go with Interview with the Vampire. Brad Pitt was good as usual, and I was impressed that Tom Cruise did such a good job as Lestat, blond wig and all. Remember the flap over that?
